RainCoast Environmental led permitting and engagement processes supporting the issuance of two transboundary Type A Land Use Permits for Fireweed Metals Inc.’s new Mactung Field Investigations Project (Tulita District, Sahtu Region) and Gayna Project (Sahtu and Gwich’in regions, Northwest Territories).
Key responsibilities included:
- Development of Type A Land Use Permit applications for each of these new projects, securing transboundary permits for both projects
- Leading related engagement with relevant Indigenous communities and organizations, supporting positive Land and Water Board reviews
- Development and maintenance of a engagement tracking system
- Supporting Licence of Occupation and Scientific Research Permit applications and related discussions
- Provision of regulatory interpretation, guidance, and permitting strategy across multi-agency processes and requirements
- Development, oversight, and reporting of baseline water sampling programs
