RainCoast Environmental Services Ltd. provides senior-level environmental, permitting, regulatory, and engagement support for mining and exploration projects across Nunavut and the Northwest Territories.

Founded by Katsky Venter, RainCoast was established to provide practical, experienced, and highly responsive environmental consulting support grounded in real project execution. With experience spanning advanced exploration, environmental assessment, mine construction, operations, compliance, and closure planning, RainCoast works closely with clients to navigate complex regulatory systems and support successful project advancement.

The company has supported successful permitting, licensing, engagement, and compliance programs for projects throughout Nunavut and the Northwest Territories, including work involving the Nunavut Water Board (NWB), Nunavut Impact Review Board (NIRB), Mackenzie Valley Land and Water Board (MVLWB), Sahtu Land and Water Board (SLWB), Wek’èezhìi Land and Water Board (WLWB), Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC), and Indigenous governments and organizations across northern Canada.

Katsky Venter has over 19 years of experience in environmental management, permitting, regulatory strategy, and Indigenous engagement for mining and exploration projects across northern Canada.

Prior to founding RainCoast Environmental, Katsky held senior environmental and social responsibility roles with Newmont Mining Ltd. and TMAC Resources and worked as an aquatic ecologist with Rescan Environmental Services supporting major mining and infrastructure projects throughout Canada and internationally.
