Review conducted on behalf of Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) of new and cost-effective ways in which other governments, non-government organizations and industry associations worldwide monitor and verify fisher-reported information.
Review included assessment of novel and effective methodologies and technologies employed in a range of Indigenous, commercial and recreational fisheries and was supported by case studies. Focus of the review was on identifying innovative and cost-effective catch monitoring tools and technologies used to collect, record, store, retrieve and report fisheries catch data.
