The Ekati Diamond Mine is Canada’s first, and longest-operating, surface and underground diamond mine.
Services provided include:
- Management and monitoring plan development addressing regulatory and stakeholder input and project changes, including; Dewatering, Processed Kimberlite, Waste Rock, Ore, and Air Quality management and monitoring plans.
- Fisheries monitoring data gap analysis
- Fisheries Act Authorization compliance assessment
- Review and impact assessment of the proposed Metal and Diamond Mining Effluent Regulations (MDMER) and support of related engagements with ECCC.
- Summarization of MDMER requirements and development of an MDMER-compliant monitoring program.
- Creation of a management plan registry and regulator/commitments-driven corrective action tracking system.
- Developed compliance framework based on federal and territorial requirements, including DFO Fisheries Authorizations and Letters or Advice, Water Licences, Land Use Permits and management plans for the Jay Project road route.
- Preparation of technical environmental monitoring reports and recommendations.
- Preparation of a Type A Land Use Permit application.
- Third party review of consultant reports related to aquatics and air quality, including Aquatic Effect Monitoring Plans, Aquatic Response Framework, Response Plans, and baseline reports.
